Description
In 1973, the provincial government’s plan for what is now Gros Morne National Park had five obstacles: the communities of Sally’s Cove, Belldown’s Point, Green Point, Bakers Brook, and Lobster Cove. In response, the Mummers Troupe worked with the residents of Sally’s Cove to create this play about how the park’s creation would impact them. In the show, the relocation plan is imposed upon the residents, halting community growth and forcing locals out. The play premiered in Sally’s Cove on the eve of the official park signing which was held in Rocky Harbour.
